The Treasure Within

Looking around for happiness,

A treasure hunt indeed more or less.

Sniffing everywhere, finding the Kasturi,

Not knowing, all the time, it has been on me.

The treasure lies within,

All along, it has always been.

A pure heart born into the Kali Yuga,

Placed in the wrong era, misunderstood.

But I shall not let my light die,

Rather shine it as bright as a beacon to lead them by.

The treasure lies within,

All along, it has always been.

Save only others' universes, should I,

Who'd protect mine from the evil's eye?

First have to look after mine,

Then only can I ensure others' are fine.

The treasure lies within,

All along, it has always been.

To some, it might look like selfishness,

But it is the truest form of selflessness.

Looking after myself has to be a priority,

To understand the worth of my time and energy.

The treasure lies within,

All along, it has always been.

As I relax my mind and meditate,

My worth starts to illuminate.

It's all about something as pure as dove,

A commonly overlooked thing called self love.
